Craft Haul: O brave new world/that has such washi tape in’t!

Over the course of the year-and-some that I’ve been writing letters, I have witnessed a certain chain craft retailer’s washi tape selection improved dramatically. Last year, I was lucky to find a weird roll of  glittery “Craft Paper Tape” for five bucks. These days, though, you can purchase a whole tube of tapes for $10: a price that I sliced in half this weekend thanks to some clever couponing. If these springy tapes won’t keep the snow away, I don’t know what else could!

I’m not sure why all these leaves have decided to levitate and move slowly in one direction, but it sure makes for a cute pattern! I have some green envelopes that will pair perfectly with this.

Gratitude and wooden planks: the dreamiest combination. I’m grateful, at the very least, to have a washi tape that might go well with the outdoors-themed paper stack I’ve been trying to use for months.

Finally, the stars of the haul: the floral tapes! I love both of these patterns and the way they perfectly capture that comforting, springtime feeling that I’m constantly pursuing these days. The more detailed pattern could add the perfect finishing touch to an envelope design, while I’m already planning on using the larger flowers to create some homemade stationery sheets.

At the very least, this washi tape haul is dragon-approved: what higher praise could you get than that? Now I’ll just wait patiently for the day when dragon-themed washi tape comes into being…

Why isn’t dragon washi tape a thing?! It should be. Love those floral tapes!

For sure! If I had any artistic ability I’d design some dragon washi myself; in the meantime I’ll just continue to dream of it…

Such pretty tapes! I love the leaves ones.
I wish I could find tape like that here. I can find the odd nice roll of washi tape in the craft stores around me but it’d probably cost me between €3 and €5 per roll. I still have to buy most of my tape online.

Oh no! I hope the washi obsession reaches your local stores in great quantities at some point soon! That said, if there’s ever any American washi tape that appeals to you, let me know; I’m happy to send it in a letter and share the wealth 😀

If not, at least the internet is always there for me to turn too! 😀

Ooh those floral tapes are pretty! I have yet to be able to find washi tape in a store on this tiny island on which I live! Ordering all mine from Amazon at the moment.

Love the dragon. I bought the last two rolls of vintage robot washi at Staples today and I love it….love the feather tape and your description of it.

Oooh, vintage robots–that sounds like a design I’d love! I’m always impressed by all of the very unique and fun washi tapes out there!

Oh! I love these! I have that leaf washi and it’s wonderful to see the pattern across a journal page.

And if you’re talking abou the craft store I think you’re talking about, I agree with you about their selection! It’s like they realized paper addicts really love washi too!

I hope you share how you use these!
