Outfit of the [Yester]day: Rabbits & the Moon

And to feel that the light is a rabbit-light,
In which everything is meant for you
And nothing need be explained;
Then there is nothing to think of. It comes of itself;
And east rushes west and west rushes down,
No matter. The grass is full
And full of yourself. The trees around are for you,
The whole of the wideness of night is for you,
A self that touches all edges…
-Wallace Stevens, “A Rabbit as King of the Ghosts”

Did you know that the mythological rabbit-in-the-moon has its own [hilariously written] Wikipedia page?

The rabbits that dance around the border of this Lindy Bop dress aren’t exactly jumping out of lunar craters (yet!) but I still find its frenzy ofΒ leaves and stars exhilarating.

I recently discovered that Lindy Bop, a retailer which I originally associated with more traditional vintage reproduction dresses, also offers a wide variety of insanely quirky prints! Thanks to a recent clearance sale, this is just one of a few magical dresses I’ve added to my collection.

Considering that they were traveling here from England, my dresses arrived very quickly–perhaps these fleet-footed rabbits helped out with the journey!
